#MySpotOnEarth Challenge Week 6

There is a reason why the British love talking about the weather!  Why?  Because it changes so quickly over the space of hours and minutes you never know what you are going to get!

This week I have sheep on the paddock next to my garden, who greet me every morning with a very loud ‘Bahhhh” as I walk past on the way to feeding my chickens!  They are a friendly bunch (or maybe they think I am going to feed them) but they come trotting over to the fence to say hello, so I thought they could feature centre stage in my photo this week – accompanied by words from ‘The Lamb’ by William Blake.  All very British!

It was a tough choice this week as to what to feature.  The spice girls were high on the list….

Followed closely by the swaying Barley – looking lovely in the sunshine…..

But the lovely sheep won the day – getting a bit of shade on a beautiful sunny day…..

Lavender’s Blue, dilly dilly……

Lavender’s Green, When I am King, dilly dilly, You shall be queen….

Or so the nursery rhyme goes! This English folksong always reminds me of flowers – I used to sing it to my boys when they were babies!

The bees are visiting the garden every day now – industriously collecting pollen, and the flowers are all starting to bloom, including the lavender which grows on my patio.

Here is my tiny slice of life, showing you where I live each week for a year as part of this photography/bullet journal challenge.  My Lupins (favourite flower) are coming in to their own (visited by the bees) and the lavender will soon be spectacular.

The weather is not great – the sun seems to be a stranger much of the time and there are frequent showers but I suppose this is good for the plants – if not the humans!

What a difference a week makes – it’s 5th June and now we have blue skies and sunshine!  How is it where you live?  The lane is looking lovely and the crops are growing in the fields – it’s a pleasure to be out in the fresh air.

My Little Spot on Planet Earth

As I mentioned in my last post, which you can see here I am hoping to capture a photograph each week of my surroundings and what they mean to me.  So, first off, here I am – this is me, in Eastgate – a little rural hamlet in North Norfolk, UK.

It is 30th May 2016 and as you will see below, the weather is kinda grey (and none too warm!)  Never mind.

This is my lane (well the one I walk up and down most days).  There are several houses and farms and lots of open countryside, which is amazing.
