Going Coastal (Kind Of)

Have gone a bit coastal this week and decided to try my hand at some pictures – not painting you understand (I realised very early on in life that painting was not my thing, although I did manage an O’Level in Pottery of which I am very proud) but fabric art – if that is what you call it.

I thought it might be a nice idea to see if I could reproduce some of the beautiful cards that I see around and about, but adding my own touch and design. Β Everyone loves hearts and bunting, so I thought this would be a good place to start.

The coastal theme is not necessarily in the design but I do think that the colours are quite coastal and these would fit in well with that kind of look – white walls and floors with splashes of colour. Β Each picture is backed onto gorgeous Portuguese linen (I know this because I bought it in Portugal about 20 years ago) and I have also added a bit of wadding to give a three dimensional feel.

I have now listed these in my Folksy shop, so mosey on over there to see them in their full glory – links to the right and at the top of the page.
